You can take the girl out of Danville, but you can't take the Danville out of the girl...

London is amazing! The best combo of shopping, food, and nightlife! Diksha was the perfect hostess, entertaining every one of my last requests. Diksha & Sachin have a huge crew of outgoing friends that love to party. We met up with Ashu, Vidhu and the LBS crew on Saturday night for a big night out at Wax Bar. I woke up Sunday morning sore from dancing the night away and our marathon shopping day! I already miss my friends & fam in London - I need another meal from Mirch Masala and visit to Oxford Street!

Danville Girl Stuck in Ireland!

Walking around Dublin you hear a plethora of accents and languges. I am so concious of my American accent! Someone told me that listening to me speak is like watching TV. That made me wonder waht shows they are watching. I would be very depressed if its The OC!

Baby Guinness Anyone?

I have developed an appreciation for the Irish pub culture.
Pubs are like a friend's living room. It has been great for my social life, my waist line is another story...a moment on the lips, forever on the hips!

How could I forget pictures of our Five Star Hotel in Belfast?!

10 of us took a road trip Northern Ireland and the Giants Causeway this weekend.

It was such a scenic drive - beautiful country side, lots of sheep! I was entertained by a car full of Spanish girls and all the latest Spanish pop music. I am now a fan of Bebe!

We took a black cab tour and saw where the Protestant/Catholic political troubles all started. I was surprised to see there is still a wall that divides the two communities. We also saw many examples of the political street art in Belfast.

On Sunday we ventured to the Giant's Causeway, which was gorgeous!

Don't leave without watching our Belfast Video!

Yesterday was my first day experiencing the wrath of the rain here!

I began to get cocky about the weather, and went to work in just a blazer - i got totally pissed on and came home SOAKING wet! No wonder the grass is so green here! Today I wore my winter coat, gloves, and wool scarf - all in vein, the sun is shining again!

The People's Republic of Cork

Daniel, Ed, Kerry, Maya, and myself took the train to The People's Republic of Cork on Saturday morning. We visited the Blarney Castle and I kissed the Blarney Stone, and tradition says that those who do, will receive the granted the gift of eloquence - Gift of the Gab!

We also took a day trip to Kinsale, a fishing village that was very picturesque. We hiked up to the Charles Fort which overlooked all of Kinsale. After our big hike, we rewarded ourselves with the best fish and chips I have ever had!

Friday marked the begining of my first weekend in Ireland.

There are folks from all over in this city. Most of the people in this picture are not from Dublin, or even Irish! Our night started at Kitty O'Sheas and ended at a Filipino Restaurant with a live band playing everything from Guantanamera to Stairway to Heaven! Check out the sounds of Manilla Flava here!

i can't believe i am so far from home!

my flight from london to dublin was absolutely gorgeous - the sun was sooo bright and i could see how green ireland really is. it reminds me a lot of boston and sf, actually. it isn't nearly as cold as i thought it would be - but my apt was freezing - finally my heat kicked in probably at 2 am - until then i took 2 super hot showers to compensate. i thought dublin would welcome me with rain, and more rain - but it has been absolutely gorgeous - very sunny and brisk, but not freezing. If I had to guess, I would say it has been about 50 degrees...

everything here is really different - i went to the grocery store yesterday and was waiting for them to pack my bags - it turns out you pack your own bags here, and pay for plastic bags if you don't bring your own! i stared at the guy at the counter for at least a minute.
